Galaxy In Motion Ice Show 2026

Parents & Skaters,

The Ice Show is an opportunity to showcase our skaters and what they have learned throughout the year, and to provide quality entertainment for the community. This is a big event for our club, and everyone’s help is needed to make this happen. In the weeks before Ice Show, being informed and prepared will create a much better experience for everyone. Take time to review the information given out, and if you have any questions or concerns, please ask! The Ice Show is a perfect opportunity to have fun, share your talent and hard work, and share the world of skating with our community. Let’s make Galaxy in Motion the event people are talking about and don’t want to miss!

  Amy Johnson

Ice Show Producer

 (920-915-3547)

PICTURES:  February 16th from 4:00-8:00 PM. See attached schedule.

PARENT MEETING: February 15th during class times

SCHEDULES: Be aware of rehearsal, picture, and show schedules. These can be found in this packet, on the rink bulletin board, and on our website, www.jrfsc.org, under the Ice Show Information tab. February 15th is the last day of regular lessons. If your skater is not participating in the show, this is the end of their season. All show participants move forward with show rehearsals.

REHEARSALS: The February schedule is attached. The March rehearsal schedule will be handed out at the parent meeting on February 15th. Show rehearsals begin on February 17th. Only those skaters who are part of the cast of Galaxy in Motion will be part of these rehearsals. Skaters will learn the choreography for their show numbers with the coaches. Please check your schedules carefully for the days and times your skater has rehearsals! Times and days may be DIFFERENT than classes. BE ON TIME for REHEARSALS. This means skates on and ready to go on the ice.

ATTENDANCE: Ice Show is a team sport!  Skaters in all groups are expected to attend every rehearsal for the Ice Show, as well as every show. Notification of an absence must be given to the show producer, Amy Johnson (920-915-3547), PRIOR to the absence.

POLICIES: ICE SHOW POLICIES are guidelines regarding casting, attendance, eligibility, etc., and are approved by the JRFSC board of directors. These can be found on our website, www.jrfsc.org, under the Ice Show Information tab.

ICE SHOW PICTURES: February 16th from 4:00-8:00 for all groups at Trinity Lutheran Church. Additional Ice Show Information, Tickets, Show Logo apparel ordering, Happy Grams, and more will be available that evening. See Picture Handout for when your skater should arrive. Your skater will not need to be present for the whole picture session. Skaters will take their individual photos as well as a group photo with the other skaters in their number, and parents will stop at stations to take care of the previously listed items. Skaters will then be expected to leave.

VOLUNTEERING:

All families are expected to help put on this show and work at least 3 out of the 4 shows. (We also ask that parents “practice” their volunteer role on dress rehearsal night if applicable.  Example – locker room parents should help in the locker room dress rehearsal night so they know what to expect on show night.) There will be a volunteer sign-up at picture night so that you may serve in an area of your interest. On the website under the Ice Show Information tab, you will find job descriptions of the different roles we need filled during the shows. Volunteering during the Ice Show is separate from the volunteer hours required during the regular season.  We also ask that all families help with setting up the Sunday prior to the show and tear down immediately following the last show.

TICKETS:

Ticket packets will be handed out to each family on picture night.

  • Each family is required to sell a minimum of $75 in tickets.
  • Ticket packets can be turned in to Shyia Colburn during show week but MUST be turned in by Thursday March 26th at the latest!
  • Fill out the form on your ticket envelope and turn in your envelope with money and ALL unsold Ice Show tickets. Each ticket and all funds MUST BE ACCOUNTED FOR.

SHOW WEEK March 22nd – 29th

***All parents will need to assist with setting up the show starting Sunday, March 22nd (time TBD). More information regarding show week will be handed out and presented at the parent meeting on February 16th.

Show Week Rehearsals:

Monday, March 23rd - Rehearse first half of show

Tuesday, March 24th - Rehearse second half of show

Wednesday, March 25th - Tech Rehearsal–Entire Show

Thursday, March 26th - Full Dress Rehearsal

It is very important to have all skaters present at rehearsals. Absences from any rehearsal need to be approved by the producer (Amy Johnson 920-915-3547) prior to the skater missing the rehearsal.

  • March 27-29 Show Schedule

Friday, March 27, Show at 7:00 pm

Saturday, March 28, Shows at 2:00 pm & 7:00 pm

Sunday, March 29, Show at 2:00 pm

*PARENTS of VERY YOUNG skaters (3-5 years of age):  Show time is a very exciting and tiring week for everyone. Adequate rest and quiet times during the week will be very beneficial to all. Little skaters are expected to be at rehearsals during show week. If rehearsals begin to run late, parents are welcome to take their child home after they have rehearsed. ATTENDANCE during the DRESS REHEARSAL and SHOWS is mandatory, even for our youngest skaters! When a skater is missing from a show number, it destroys the balance created during the choreography and causes problems. While we try to be understanding with our youngest skaters, it is important that all skaters are present to perform. Non-attendance of a show is detrimental to the ENTIRE group.

COSTUMES: Costumes for group numbers are being arranged. Skaters may be asked to provide some items for their costumes. Skaters will be notified as to special needs if necessary.

*Our Costumers for this year’s show are Annetta Tweten (701-269-9843) and Mallory Bear (701-320-3769).

COSTUME NOTES:

Groups: Costumes will be provided. Costumes may be taken home after the final show. Items such as boot covers and bloomers will need to be returned to the club. Skaters will be notified if you are asked to provide any costume items.

Duets: Costumes will be provided.

Soloists: You will be responsible for providing your own solo costume for the show. If you would like costume suggestions, ask the coaches or costumer.

Girls: All girls will need non-shiny skating tights. These can be purchased in the JRFSC Boutique.

Boys: Boys that need black pants will be notified by the costumer.
